God bless you! Your family sounds a lot like my wife's family - I used to joke with her that her mother and grandmother weren't happy unless they were unhappy! Now that they're both gone, my wife is so much happier and relaxed - she was always on edge, and it affected so much of her life.

This is an excellent article and should be put on a board for those who don't seem to have the time to read the blog. We've lost childen due to bullying. My grandson was bullied at school and it has taken alot to build his confidenice up so as he heads towards the work force he will be ok. I often wonder when doing psych how many people have felt they have to go for treatment or become insecure and sick. Thank you for posting this. i intend to share with my daughter and several other friends who I know have been in this situation.

We made this for a family holiday--a double batch, thinking we would have leftovers to bring home--we were wrong! They all gobbled it up! I'll keep making this one!! You should too!

Thank you for the very thought provoking post. I view myself as a work-in-progress and now that I'm about to turn 50, it's even more important to me to be open to new experiences, stop myself when I find I'm repeating negative patterns of behavior, and yes, deal with anger over losses. I think creation is an amazing process and am grateful to have this life to create as much as I can in it.

Wow!
Great post. When I look in the mirror I know that I'm in line with my values. I don't think that I could look myself in the mirror if I wasn't in line with my core values. How we close the gap to what we hoped we would be and what we truly are is to take action steps towards our ultimate goals every day so that we bring ourselves inline with our true passions in life. Thanks for your thought provoking words.

Thank you for supporting this great annual event! My Dad suffered from COPD and Emphysema before he passed away. On behalf of my Dad and all of the people who suffer from lung disease, we appreciate all those who support these important events that raise funds for lung disease.

Sorry to say that I am a sun worshipper and I get my energy from the sun. I must have seasonal affective disorder! Unlike you, snow negatively affects my Body, Mind, and Spirit. While I do worry some about global warming, I find myself wishing the snow would stay up north and counting the days until Spring and Summer arrive.

Love this idea! My family loves to cook pancakes on the weekends. Sometimes their first batch ends up in the trash (guess they take after their mother) I'm going to share this with them. Thanks!

I would definitely like to see more healthy and nutritious food offerings everywhere. I try to choose a "Clean" diet where at least 51% of my food is raw- that is one ingredient-not raw as in not cooked. But there is no real market for this except on the fringes in more affluent communities. I am still arguing with my son (who's nearly 21) about eating better food. He's still essentially eating a school lunch diet without the vegetables. This is such a difficult topic for so many reasons:
1. People have to want to change
2. People have to be education (and seek information BEFORE they get sick) to change.
3. It IS more expensive to eat fresh and healthy foods
4. It takes time to cook and we don't want to spend the time doing that any longer.
5. Americans resent being told they HAVE to do anything- even if it's good for them. Look at those who resist seatbelt laws.
6. Society has accepted (and actually protected) the obese in the last 2 decades making it okay to be a big woman/man.

Okay, I could go on and on. Loved the Lowest Common Denominator's point of view. I think he's being simplistic.
